grindworks SM Series Wedge

The grindworks SM series is another variation of the 86 series, with similar face shape and sole grind, but with a special laser milled face. Like the 86 series, the SM series is also available in a variety of grinds and lofts to suit different golfers.

Every golfer is unique. We have different abilities, different swings, and even play on different courses and turf conditions. So why should we all use the same wedge? Grindworks wedges are specially designed and ground to accommodate different swing types and course conditions. Are you a digger who takes a big divot? Are you a sweeper who barely brushes the turf? 218 Alloy:
When it comes to material, we want something soft yet durable. The common material for wedges is soft carbon steel (S20C, S25c), but it rusts if not plated and dents easily. We decided to go with a soft stainless steel called SUS218. It has the same hardness (HRB) as S20C steel but is more durable and much more corrosion resistant. It is rich in nickel and chromium, giving it a very similar feel to forged carbon steel at impact, while maintaining the wedge's pristine condition, which creates more bite and spin at impact.
